The whole production of Kiss Me Kate was a triumph. On each of the three evenings the packed house enjoyed swirling silks, wonderful hairdos, make up and costumes, superbly delivered Shakespearean verse, amazing singing, acting, dancing, fantastic production numbers and set pieces involving the whole cast, staggeringly well accomplished solo pieces, duets and small ensembles. This was always going to be an ambitious project, especially because it involved so many children, across so many age groups. All of our special guests said how impressed they were with the quality of the production, including our Governors, visiting Headteachers, the Mayor, Councillor Ian Payne and our local MP, Bob Neill.
This production gave the children involved the most marvellous opportunity to build significant transferable skills – skills which help them in their wider learning – memorisation, public speaking, team work, preparedness and improvisation being just a few. Well done to all – you should be very proud of yourselves.
Tim Lello said, "I would like to convey our huge thanks on behalf of the whole school community to all the staff, parents, pupils, friends and helpers who made the production so special. Particular thanks goes to the Director, Miss Victoria Whittaker and to the Musical Director, Mrs Ann-Louise Whittaker, for a wonderful show".
