A wonderful new climbing wall has been officially opened at Babington House School in Chislehurst. The Headmaster Tim Lello, who happens to be a qualified Mountain Guide, commented that "the climbing wall is a fantastic new addition to our impressive sporting facilities and enables our children to develop their confidence, self-esteem and team work. It will be enjoyed across the whole age range from 3-18 years old".
At this Mid-Summer Madness celebratory event, Tony Guise, Chair of Governors, cut the ribbon to officially open this amazing new climbing wall and then bravely made the first ascent, belayed by the Headmaster. Parents and pupils were invited to climb the 11 metre high wall to try and beat his time, everything being recorded in 'Top Gear' style on the leader board. The winner was Lilah in Year 6 with a very impressive climb of 31seconds.
The PTA organised a number of stalls and it was a perfect summers' evening for pupils to enjoy ice creams and parents, staff and governors a glass of Pimms!
