Being situated so close to Elmstead Woods train station which is only a 15 minute journey into the heart of the capital, we are able to take full advantage of the cultural life of London, and to draw upon the museums, galleries, theatres and concert halls around.
In the Senior School and Sixth Form, many students have successfully achieved their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards. These demonstrate a significant commitment covering four strands of work: volunteering, physical, skills and expedition. The expedition is an invaluable experience promoting team work and decision making.
During Climbing Club, which takes place after school several days each week, pupils are able to hone their safety procedures and climbing skills in advance of competitions and expeditions.
One of our climbing instructors is a professional climber and coaches the GB Paralympic Climbing Team.
We also enjoy walking and rock climbing trips to the Peak District, where we hire a simple cottage near Hathersage, and toast marshmallows over an open fire.
