Headteacher

Headmaster’s Profile

David Laird brings over twenty-five years of experience in the education sector, having worked at some of the world’s leading independent, international, and boarding schools. Notable career highlights include his tenure as Principal of The British School of Beijing in China and his role as a boarding teacher at the prestigious Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland. In 2019, Mr. Laird founded The British School of Lisbon in Portugal, where he served as the inaugural Headmaster.

While Mr. Laird’s primary expertise lies in schools offering the English National Curriculum, he has also led an IB continuum school in central London. His pedagogical philosophy emphasises the importance of providing outstanding teaching and learning. At the same time, he is committed to creating unique opportunities for students that extend beyond the classroom, helping them develop as well-rounded global citizens who can adapt to an ever-changing world.
