Specialist Teaching

Our Nursery and Reception pupils enjoy weekly PE lessons where they have fun, learn new skills and develop their physical health.

In addition, our Nursery and Reception pupils benefit from a new bespoke outdoor area featuring an obstacle course where children can develop physical, practical and communication skills through play and exploration.

Music is taught by a specialist teacher at Babington House School, giving our youngest children the opportunity to develop a love of music from the very beginning of their school journey. Through singing, rhythm, movement, musical exploration and instrument playing, children develop their listening, memory, coordination and confidence, while learning to express themselves creatively.

Our new bespoke outdoor area extends these opportunities with a dedicated stage, where children can sing, perform and share their ideas with others. These experiences nurture confident communicators, encouraging children to find their voice, enjoy performing and embrace new challenges in a supportive and inspiring environment.

At Babington, languages are introduced in the Early Years. The children enjoy weekly lessons in French and Spanish where they develop simple vocabulary through songs and practical activities.

Our Nursery children enjoy Bushcraft sessions, while Reception children take part in Forest School, providing exciting opportunities to explore, discover and learn in the natural environment. These experiences encourage children to develop confidence, independence and resilience as they learn to take considered risks, solve problems and work collaboratively.

Our new bespoke outdoor area further enriches this learning, with dedicated spaces designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and practical skills. Children can nurture and harvest their own vegetables in our garden, develop fine motor skills and concentration through woodwork, and enjoy imaginative play in our water, sand and mud kitchen areas.

Through these purposeful experiences, children are encouraged to experiment, create, problem-solve and work together, building the confidence and skills they need to thrive as enthusiastic, capable learners.
