We are delighted that you are considering Babington House for your child and we would love for them to come and join our school community in the future.

We select children based on their academic ability, potential, and personal qualities. Our admissions process is designed to identify pupils who can benefit from the education we provide and make a positive contribution towards the school’s life.

We try to make the admissions experience as friendly as we can so that we, and you as parents, can work out whether your son or daughter would thrive here.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Entry into Nursery and Prep (3-11 years)

Nursery

Children can join Babington House Nursery from the date of their third birthday. An application form must be completed along with the £120 registration fee to secure your child’s place.

You and your child are both welcome at one of our stay and play sessions we offer throughout the academic year. We tend to invite children to these sessions when they are of Nursery age, or a year before they are due to join us. These sessions are designed so you and your child can experience our learning environment, and talk to members of staff in this department.

Should you wish to proceed, we have invite children in for an individual taster session and meeting with our Head of Early Years. We also offer free settling in sessions to ensure children can transition easily to our setting.

Children joining our Nursery are required to attend a minimum of 3 sessions.  Children who join our school Nursery are automatically offered a place into one of our Reception classes.

Morning sessions:  08:30am – 12:15pm (including lunch)

Afternoon sessions:  12:15pm – 3:15pm

Full day: 08:30am – 3:15pm (including lunch)

We offer the 15 hours EYFS funding against our afternoon sessions.

Reception

Places in Reception are offered to all Nursery families in the first instance.  There are 40 places available each academic year.

Children wishing to join Babington House School in Reception who are currently not in our Nursery, should complete an application form and pay the £120 registration fee as soon as possible, to secure a place.  Please note that due to the high demand of places, you may be placed on a waiting list.

Once a place is offered, families will be invited to attend an Early Years Stay & Play.  This bespoke session is designed to provide you and your child with experience of our unique learning environment, and to talk to Early Years Teachers. We also take a reference from a nursery if your child attends such a setting. Before joining, a meeting is organised with your child’s new Reception teacher and we will invite your child for an induction day in June.
