The new academic year has begun with energy and enthusiasm across Babington House, and pupils have already achieved so much in just the first few weeks.
Senior School pupils have returned with real focus, and we were thrilled to celebrate excellent GCSE and A-Level results over the summer. Their success is a testament to their determination and the support of their teachers. In addition, our Prep pupils have embraced the new term with positivity, with Lorien and Charlie in Year 6 proudly appointed as Head Girl and Head Boy.
Across the curriculum, pupils are thriving. In Science, Year 7s have been busy learning how to safely use Bunsen burners, while Year 13s have been carrying out advanced titrations. The Art & Design department is already preparing for the ISA National Art Competition, and the Music Department has relaunched its exciting “Let’s Play!” instrumental scheme, giving pupils the opportunity to try new instruments such as flute, clarinet, saxophone and trumpet.
On the sports field, pupils have hit the ground running. From athletics and football to netball and cricket, teams have been training hard and demonstrating skill, teamwork and determination. Fixtures are now underway, and we are excited to see our pupils represent Babington with pride throughout the term.
Even our youngest learners have been busy. Nursery children have enjoyed fairy tales, role play and art activities inspired by Cinderella and The Rainbow Fish, while Reception have been exploring colour mixing in Art, beginning their phonics journey, and learning greetings in French and Spanish.
It has been a fantastic start to the year, full of achievement, creativity and community spirit. We look forward to building on this momentum as the autumn term continues.
