Working towards a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award can be a life-changing experience. Students discover new interests and talents, have fun with friends and develop essential skills for life and work.

The DofE award is a recognised mark of achievement and respected by employers. Students at Babington House can embark on a DofE programme at one of three progressive levels which, when successfully completed, leads to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Process

There are four sections to complete at Bronze and Silver level and five at Gold. They involve helping the community and environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills, planning, training for and completing an expedition.

The expedition is the highlight of the award for many and is an invaluable experience promoting team work and decision making. At Bronze level, Practice and Qualifying expeditions take place in the local area and for Silver and Gold expeditions, students venture further afield.

Babington House is proud to offer this opportunity to Senior students. This award has helped many to push personal boundaries, gain new life-long skills, develop self-confidence and perseverance, enhance a wider breadth of learning opportunities and provide new platforms of discovery.
